It's a nice game to kill of some aggressions, but if you want a serious boxing-sim, you should maybe have a look at the other one.Īn exciting box game. You don't get the feeling of building up a character. You can train your boxer as well and you even got some more attributes to care about here, but you don't really live with your boxer. But - well - it just lacks the charme of let's say 4D Sports Boxing. You can even start a career with a boxer of your name. And the fighting itself isn't bad either. Yet another nice boxing-sim, but it fails to be a really good one - don't ask me why, it's not the graphics, they're pretty good. And the gaming world is awfully dry of decent boxing games, so give it a try! This is largely due to the fact that you can't set up the keys to control him, so you're left to the cursor keys and Enter.īut with a lot of training (and maybe cursing) you might actually still like this game. Many times you'll be caught cursing the guy for just jumping around without doing much of anything. It's hard to make your boxer understand which punch you want him to throw and when. So far so good, but: The controls suck! Yes, I'm sorry, but that's the way it is. The music, though, (and I'm going out on a limb by calling it that) is not anything you'd put in your stereo on a Friday night. Sports games in general don't really need high class graphics, but this game actually looks ok. Graphically this game holds its own, as you can see. A high endurance, on the other hand, means you've got a long, gruesome fight on your hands.

The Championship is the far more interesting type of game this is where you train a boxer and take him up the rankings. Nice clean fun, but it doesn't offer anything special. You can play around a little with the poor chump before placing him firmly on the canvas. Then, to start off, an easy match between the first-ranked boxer vs. Go one-off and set the number of rounds and the time of each one. You choose either a one-off match, where you just select two boxers, or a complete championship.

The first thing which struck me about this game was that you can begin playing very quickly there are not that many tiresome menus. There is only one type of punch available, although a 3D ring view results in realistic movement, and head-lock situations can occur.

Realistic scoring is awarded for each round. The boxers are represented with realistic graphics for the epoch as large on-screen characters. You can play a single match or an entire championship.Įach match is presented by an announcer and a good looking girl, as in real matches.
